The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) told the producers of the film Kambakkht Ishq to tone down the language used in the film. The producers agreed to control the language and several of its characters have redubbed the scenes in order to get a UA certificate.

The film was sent for clearance to the Censor Board on Saturday. A source from the Board said, “Some of the dialogue in the film had double meaning, the film would’ve been cleared without cuts if the producers were ready to accept an A certificate, but they wanted a UA. Therefore, cuts and redubbing of some dialogue was needed.’’

Regional officer of CBFC Vinayak Azad said, “Since the producers wanted a UA certificate and some scenes and dialogue were not advisable for universal viewing, we proposed some cuts and dubbing of dialogue which the producers agreed to.’’ Producer Sajid Nadiadwala agrees that changes were made but added, “This is nothing new, it happens with so many films.’’

According to sources there are about 9-10 scenes that required change. Some dialogue that were not suitable were Boman Irani mouthing the word `hard on’ which has now been replaced by ‘turn on’.

Two controversial dialogue by Akshay Kumar have been deleted too. A source said, “There are two controversial dialogue Akshay Kumar which have been deleted. Akshay Kumar says, ‘Women are good for only two things-Making love and making love.’ Now the dialogue ends at ‘Women are good for only two things’. Also there is a dialogue which is more of a joke and it goes, ‘Marriage ke pehle ladkiyan sex object hoti hain aur marriage ke baad mein they object to sex.’”
