Guess why Vishal Bhardwaj braved an injury to attend an awards show?

// <![CDATA[// // <![CDATA[// // <![CDATA[// They were hardly friendly for a long while, but it seems Shah Rukh Khan and Vishal Bhardwaj have decided to start this year with a clean slate. Vishal, who was scheduled to attend a recent awards show because his film Kaminey was nominated in various categories, backed out at the last minute because of a painful muscle injury he sustained during a tennis session early the same morning.

It turns out that the pain increased so much that Vishal turned back midway to the awards ceremony and informed the organisers that he would not be attending. So when the organisers saw Vishal make an entry in the evening, it came as a surprise. The surprise doubled when SRK announced that Vishal had come despite an injury.

Later, Vishal’s puzzled friends asked him how SRK knew about his injury and that’s when the sequence of events became known.

Apparently when Shah Rukh came to know that Vishal had turned back and would not be attending the show, he called him and requested him to come as he had a segment planned with him. Commendably, Vishal decided to go a doctor and get a shot of painkillers to keep his date with Shah Rukh, who was obviously pleased.

Says a close friend of Vishal, “When we asked Vishal what happened, he told us that SRK had called him while he was on his way back and requested him to come back. So he went to a doctor for an injection to lessen the pain.” Clearly, no one is immune to SRK’s charm.

Vishal himself remained unavailable for comment.
