Sunny Sound Studio, once one of the more popular sound studios in Mumbai, is either going in for a revamp or is on its way to being closed down. Its owner, actor Sunny Deol, is said to be contemplating redevelopment of the prime Juhu property that currently houses the studio.

A source close to Sunny reveals, “At one time, Sunny Sound was considered one of the best studios with most major production houses using its services. Over the years it started losing out to other studios that were offering state-of-the-art equipment. Last year, during the release of Chamku, they did upgrade some equipment but no major work has been coming their way.”

Apparently when Sunny was approached by some builders with good offers for redevelopment, he gave in. “Sunnyji plans to get it redeveloped and keep a few floors of the new building. He might start some new venture altogether or fully upgrade the studio,” adds the source. However when contacted, Sunny was evasive. “It is my personal property and I will do whatever I wish to. I don’t need to tell anyone anything.” Asked whether he plans to start something new, he said, “No plans as such. And even if I do, I don’t need to announce them.” It sure is a touchy topic with him.
