His latest ‘Dhan Te Nan’ might have taken the industry by storm. But, it seems Vishal Bhardwaj is deeply disappointed at the attitude of the censor board that allotted his film an A certificate.
The maverick director says that his latest film has been given an unfair treatment by the censor board while some of the most violent films have been granted U/A certificate in the past.
Talking about his resentment at the press meet of the film, Vishal says, “I was quite disappointed when KAMINEY was given an adult certificate while the fact remains that we have tried to be responsible and have made sure not have scenes or dialogues that would go against the public sentiment. But, it seems the censor board has its own impression of my cinema and it was difficult to convince them about KAMINEY. I agree that my film showcases violence, but its something much more toned down than what we have seen on the silver screen earlier.”
He further adds, “The fact that my film is titled KAMINEY makes people think it is not a family film at all. But, let me make it clear, we have removed all such portions from the film that were not fit to be seen with the family, even after making these changes I am still granted an A certificate which is really hard to digest,” he ends.
The film which stars Shahid Kapoor in a double role promises to be a hit fare with the audiences and is all set to release on the 14th of this month.

At last Bollywood box-office collections get lucky with the much awaited multi starrer action-thriller LUCK. Hype over high tide, might have prevented cine-goers in Mumbai to enter cinema halls, despite the beginning of week-end. Therefore, affecting almost 40 percent of the opening collections for LUCK.
Still LUCK took a fantastic opening at the single screens in U.P, Punjab, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Nizam, with a hundred percent opening. Although multiplexes conquered 40 percent opening, however, good reviews will woo audience to watch the film over the weekend. The film has been released on 976 prints in India (343 physical prints and 633 digital prints) on 1,150 screens. Overseas, it has been released in 134 prints on 150 screens. The worldwide print count is 1,110 in 1,300 screens. Meanwhile, the film collected an impressive 2.8 lakh Dirham on its opening day in UAE.
LUCK is predicted to get luckier with the bad fate of its contemporary- PERFECT MISMATCH. PERFECT MISMATCH has turned out to be living up to its title with its box-office earnings a perfect mismatch as compared to producer’s expectations. A very poor opening at both- multiplexes and single screens, the film has not even received moderate reviews by critics to fall back on.
On the whole, LUCK’s charm did prove fatal for PERFECT MISMATCH as predicted by many trade pundits. With LOVE AAJ KAL releasing next week it will give a further blow to the poor show of PERFECT MISMATCH, and will also affect the turnover of LUCK for the next weekend. Till that time, we can safely say this week it’s perfectly matched for LUCK!

Rimi Sen will now soon be seen playing an obese woman in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s upcoming next, SHOWMAN starring Govinda, Celina Jaitley and South star Harish alongside. Rimi has been asked to put on an astounding 160 kg for her role. But well, it seems, most of her weight shall be added up by padding.
About the film, Rimi says, “It will be too early to reveal anything more but I can assure you that the role is very interesting. Most of my time went in just putting on and removing the make-up.”
SHOWMAN is being directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia who has to his credit the critically acclaimed HAASIL and CHARAS. Incidentally, SHOWMAN was earlier titled KING CON and was the same film which was in news for Govinda’s whimsical ways on the sets. Govinda plays a smooth talking con man in the film and both Celina and Rimi play his love interests.

Much is being said & written about actor Neil Nitin Mukesh‘s nude scene in his upcoming next, JAIL directed by multiple National Award winning director, Madhur Bhandarkar. The photos of this nude scene are already making the rounds on the net and in the print medium. With apparently the censor board to showing its apprehension about the nude scene inclusion in JAIL’S first promo, the whole thing seems to be a new controversy in the making.
However, an unfazed Neil Nitin Mukesh states in this regard, ”JAIL is being made by Madhur Bhandarkar, so controversies are bound to be there. I think controversies fuel people’s interest in the film. The film is going to be showcased at IIFA this year and I feel publicity is important for every film, to make people aware of what it is about and persuade them to watch it. As far as the nude scene is concerned, it is not a publicity gimmick. I don’t even know how the picture got out so soon. What we have depicted in the film is a procedure that actually happens; we haven’t exaggerated anything. For the first time, through frisking, men will know what it feels to be raped. It is a very intense, important moment in the film.”

Madhuri to be paired opp Ranbir?

Age may be just a number, but Bollywood is cashing in on it big time! These days tinsel town is busy talking about the chemistry between younger heroes and older women. First, we heard of the sweet ‘n’ surprising Shahid Kapur –Vidya Balan pairing, then Bips created spark with a young Ranbir Kapoor & coupling it with younger Neil Nitin Mukesh . Now we hear, the latest to rejoin the league is the former Bollywood queen Madhuri Dixit
If the current reports are to go by then in her latest venture, Mads is being paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor in director Prakash Jha’s next. If this happens history will repeat itself. Madhuri on her part is bound to experience bouts of nostalgia when working with young heartthrob, reminiscing the days when she romanced his papa Rishi Kapoor onscreen while working on films like YAARANA, PREM GRANTH.
And this is not the first time; Madhuri has already shared great onscreen chemistry with both father and son in lead roles & charmed both. Years back she had worked with papa Vinod Khanna in DAYAVAAN and son Akshaye in MOHABBAT (and recently in AAJA NACHLE).
No wonder she is aptly called the eternal ‘Dhak Dhak’ girl of Bollywood!
