Why did Genelia D’Souza rush to meet her director Ken Ghosh at midnight on Christmas Day when her family waited for her at home for the festivities?
At midnight on Thursday when Christmas day started, Ken Ghosh finished editing and post-production of Chance Pe Dance and was feeling like sharing the moment with his lead pair. Shahid Kapoor however, was unavailable. Genelia, Ken thought, would be busy celebrating Christmas with her family.
Says Ken, “Even I was supposed to be back home with my wife and kids for Christmas opening gifts (I love doing that). But since it was the final day of post-production, I had no way of avoiding work even on Christmas. I really wanted to share that moment with my actors.”
On an impulse Ken called up Genelia. “And guess what? She agreed to come down to Pixion in Bandra where I was editing straight from midnight mass which was in a Church nearby. I never thought she’d do this, what with Christmas being an important day in her home. But she did. But then Genelia has been hand-on with this project, almost like a part of the production team.”
Genelia’s enthusiasm for the editing and post-production of Chance Pe Dance was due to her proximity to the project, in more way than one. Explains Ken, “Genelia lives down the road from Pixion where we edited Chance Pe Dance. And her gym is in the same building as Pixion. So throughout the editing and post-production Genelia has been dropping in. But on Christmas midnight she outdid herself.”
Genelia rushed to the editing studio after midnight mass, saw the complete film and rushed home to join the family for Christmas. Says Ken emotionally, “Before she left she gave me the best Christmas gift ever. A big hug. Throughout the shooting of Chance Pe Dance she has been our sunshine girl. So much so that when she wasn’t on the sets, all of us would actually get depressed and perk up the minute she came back.”

Akshay Kumar and Akshaye Khanna will be seen in the same frame for the first time. Akshaye has been signed by Farah Khan for Tees Maar Khan and is playing the parallel lead.
Farah confirms the news. She says, “Akshaye Khanna is playing a pivotal role. We needed a big name and an established actor, who had a good comic timing. Khanna fitted the bill perfectly. Moreover, Kumar and Khanna have never worked together so this is a fresh combination of co-stars. It is a very unique role and the second most important character in the film. Kumar is playing the title role, while Khanna is playing Atish Kapoor.”
Ask her if there is any actress opposite Khanna, she says, “There is just one actress opposite both the Akshay(e)s. It is a strange script and I cannot divulge details about it.”

Sallu has low-key all-boys bday party after his ‘break-up with Katrina’!
Posted December 28, 2009
on:Salman Khan is well-known in Bollywood circles for his wild parties. If the party happens to be his birthday bash and that too at his farmhouse at Panvel, it promises to be double the fun. However, yesterday night, Salman had a low-key celebration for his 45th birthday. He had a stag party.
A source says, “Bhai is known to have fun during his parties at Panvel. His parties are much awaited and talked about by his guests. Salman’s large-heartedness ensures that all of them have a blast. However, this year, Salman is not in one of his merry moods. After his break-up with Katrina Kaif, he is not in the mood to go all out and celebrate. So, on his special day, he did not send invitations to any female. He did not feel the need to have a girlfriend by his side or even bask in the glory of any other female company. Incidentally, Katrina is in London to celebrate Christmas and New Year with her family. Salman has invited only his close male friends. Also, unlike every year, the celebration this time is not on a lavish scale. Yesterday’s party was held only for his close friends music composers Sajid Wajid, hairstylist Aalim Hakim, his bodyguard Shera, his close associate Nadeem, his filmmaker friends Vijay Galani and Sajid Nadiadwala among others. Salman has already celebrated his birthday with his family on Saturday night.”
Let’s hope that by next year, the tide turns and the large-hearted Khan gets back to hosting lavish parties.
After six long years of hard work, Shahid Kapoor is now taking a much need break. He is flying off to Goa today with his childhood friends to celebrate the New Year and spend some leisure time.
Shahid’s best friend Shriram, who he is meeting after years, is also joining the actor for this holiday. A source close to the actor says, “Shahid has been shooting back to back for the past few years. He had no break between films. After Jab We Met, he went into Kismat Konnection followed by Kaminey, Yash Raj’s untitled and now he is finishing the patchwork of Chance pe Dance. Kaminey especially, was a tiring film to shoot.
The source continues, “Now that all the pending work of his films is over, along with his prior commitments, the actor is taking a much needed break. This will be his first holiday in the past six years. He is off to Goa with his childhood friends and will celebrate the New Year with them. It is a complete boy’s holiday and he is going to unwind and relax to the fullest. The all-boys-gang will stay in a hotel in North Goa, one of the liveliest places in the month of December. The hotel has a private beach where he will have some privacy and might indulge in some water sports too. The actor is not into gambling, but being out with his friends on a holiday, he might just join them.”
The source adds some details, “Shahid wants a quiet and relaxing holiday and will disconnect himself completely from his work. He has already informed his directors and producers that he won’t be available for those days. He returns on January 1, but will only resume work on January 4.”
Shahid’s publicist confirms, “Shahid is going for his first holiday in six years with his school friends, including his best friend Shriram. They will be celebrating New Year in Goa.”

While 3 Idiots has already become a box-office hit and its popular song Zoobi Doobi has climbed the music charts at full speed, one person who is as happy as Raju Hirani and the film’s cast is Siraj Furniturewala of Millionaire who dressed up lead actor Aamir Khan for that number. Siraj and his fashion store have been associated with Hirani ever since the filmmaker made Munnabhai MBBS. “Raju is as particular about what he chooses as is Aamir. And I take it as a compliment for Millionaire to have such a long association with him. We provided the clothes for Zoobi Doobi as well as the wedding scenes in 3 Idiots where we dressed up all the lead actors including Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi and R Madhavan,” said Siraj. Dressing up Aamir, given the actor’s demand for perfection, was not a problem at all “It took three sittings to decide on the kind of stuff he’d need. My brother Afzal and I, and the whole team of 3 Idiots, worked on this together and Aamir selected the clothes which were apt enough for the situations in the film,” revealed Siraj, adding, “to be appreciated by Aamir in itself adds another feather to the cap of appreciation.” He’s looking at an even longer association with Hirani as well as Vidhu Vinod Chopra. “Both of them, with their inputs on the style and the look, helped us get better in our designs,” he said.
