SEXY! Priyanka Chopra

SUBHASH K JHA Times News Network (BOMBAY TIMES; January 1, 2010)

Okay, Bollywood’s first big rumour of 2010 is that Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar are going to reunite on screen in Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan. The buzz is that Priyanka, riding high on the success of Kaminey, is keen on being cast opposite the Khiladi again. Akshay, you remember, was the hero who galvanized her into the big league at the start of her career with Andaaz, Aitraaz and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi before the two decided not to work together. The buzz is that Priyanka has sent feelers to Farah for the female lead role in her film. The choreographer-director is herself said to be game for this hot-and saleable pairing. And Akshay, who was recently asked if he had any problems working with Priyanka again, had replied, “I’d love to work with her… provided the right script comes along.”

While none of the three involved parties are willing to comment on the Akshay-Priyanka pairing in Tees Maar Khan, Farah did reluctantly say, “By mid-January we have to decide. It will either be an absolutely new girl or a very established actress… go do your math!”

Sonu Nigam was hospitalised due to low blood pressure and fatigue and has been advised bed rest

By Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; December 31, 2009)

Singer Sonu Nigam might be singing Aal Izz Well in reel life, but all is not well with him personally. Sonu was admitted to a suburban hospital for a couple of days as he complained of fatigue. He also had low blood pressure.

A friend of Sonu says, “A couple of days ago, Sonu fell ill suddenly and was immediately rushed to hospital. He was fatigued and his blood pressure had dropped. His hectic schedule is to blame for his deteriorating health as he was working round the clock. To add to it, he had a minor slip disc problem and was under medical observation for a few days. He was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday evening and has been advised bed rest for the next few days.”

This sudden medical emergency has stopped Sonu’s work commitments in their tracks. “Sonu has cancelled all his meetings and recordings for the next few days. He is also suffering from tennis elbow and is currently undergoing treatment for that as well. However, the main concern and worry now is whether he will feel up to it for his forthcoming tours to Singapore and Israel in mid-January,” added the friend.

Sonu remained unavailable for comment.

While Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol patched up and announced that they will soon do a film together with Sunny in the lead, we hear that Santoshi is now having second thoughts about starting the project right away. We even hear that he is evading Sunny’s calls and messages.

Soon after Santoshi’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani proved to be a success, Sunny has been waiting to discuss the project with him. But Santoshi is biding his time. A source says, “Santoshi broke the ice with Sunny and it is not fair on the director’s part to turn his back on the actor. It is high time that he learns to live up to his promises.”

Explaining Santoshi’s near volte face, our source reveals, “Actually, Santoshi is in a predicament. He is flooded with offers and is seriously considering keeping Sunny’s project on hold and going ahead with something else.”

While Sunny remained unavailable for comment, Santoshi did not deny that he is working on many things right now. About his film with Sunny, he said, “The first thing I did after Ajab… was declared a hit was to spend the evening at Sunny’s house. He is in London and we are in touch. If my next film is not with him, toh galat kya hai usme? If I make a film with him after six months, why create a noise about the time I need to start that film? I want to announce my next film only around mid-January.”
