Why Gauhar Khan is opening up way after Rocket Singh’s release

All this while, Gauhar Khan preferred to remain mum about Rocket Singh and the buzz about her so-called ‘cold war’ with Shazahn Padamsee who also features in the film.

“I was under contract with Yash Raj not to speak till the film releases. I wanted to respect it even though others may not have,” says the model-turned-actress. “I did not want to have any bad vibes around nor upset anyone. I only wanted my performance to do the talking which I am glad it did.”

At a private screening she received compliments from Yash Chopra as well as her co-star Ranbir Kapoor’s parents Rishi and Neetu Singh. “They telling me that I had done well in the film was huge for me. I was so jittery but the response has been overwhelming.”

She states that after the screening, she went up to Shazahn and wished her luck for her first film. “I don’t even know Shazahn and we didn’t share screen space. Nor were there any film-related events that we would be together. So I really don’t know where all this crept up? Guess this is what happens when there is a PR machinery at work.”

At the moment, it’s only acting for her. “The fashion world and ramp is out for me now. I only want to concentrate on movies.”

She was picked up for Rocket Singh during her television outing Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa. Most viewers would remember her as an extremely emotional contestant who cried often. “But that’s how I am, even off-screen. I always get emotional. I cried even after Rocket Singh’s screening!” she says.

Dino Morea is back with fashion designer Nandita Mahtani, after his break-up with Lara Dutta
By Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; September 29, 2009)

Dino Morea and Nandita Mahtani

After his bitter break-up with Lara Dutta, it would seem that Dino Morea has moved on. There are reports that he is once again dating his ex-girlfriend, fashion designer Nandita Mahtani. According to reports, this time both are extremely serious about each other.

Our source said, “Dino and Lara broke up about eight months ago and ever since, Dino and Nandita have become close again. They have always remained friends and Nandita’s constant presence in Dino’s life was always a worry factor for Lara. After Lara and Dino broke up, Lara moved on to date tennis star Mahesh Bhupati, while Dino was single for a few months. However, he became close to Nandita again and they have been dating for a while. They have been extremely comfortable with each other at private parties; however they have been mum about their relationship to the media.”

It’s not clear how long the couple expects to keep their relationship under wraps, as they seem rather comfortable together at public events. Our source adds, “During Arjun Rampal’s restaurant launch in Delhi about a month ago, both of them came together and were seen hand-in-hand at the party through the evening. Even on Sunday night during an awards event, they were extremely comfortable with each other. Dino came late as he had gone to attend an Acid Factory promotion event while Nandita had already reached the venue. Dino came with his close friend Baba and the three of them were together after that. They even had dinner together.”

Dino remained unavailable for comment.

CANDID TALK: Salman Khan with mum Salma and Farah Khan
Salman Khan appears with mum Salma on Farah Khan’s new chat show starting tonight

Farah Khan’s production house Three’s Company is all set with her first show Tere Mere Beach Mein on Star Plus which features Salman Khan and mother Salma in its first episode.

“The show takes a topic that is sometimes socially relevant, sometimes fun and at all times relatable to the audience,” says an excited Farah of TMBM that entertains in a candid and funny manner and at times gets extremely emotional. “Our first episode has a topic ‘Mamma’s Boys’ where we talk about our nation’s obsession with the ‘mother’! We have Salman and his absolutely adorable mum, Salma aunty. And, a mamma’s boy of another kind, a common man whose mother sacrificed her operation money for, and how he is struggling to get her treated. This man’s wife feels like the third party in this mother-son relationship.”

So, what really got the choreographer-director interested in a chat show of this kind? “I didn’t want just another celeb show. I
mean Simi (Grewal) and Karan (Johar) have done it all and done it brilliantly, so how was this one to be any different,” asks Farah. So her main aim was to involve normal, middle-class people in her show. “That’s because in a case of inverted/reverse snobbery, in an industry that endorses glamour and over-rated materialism, I do claim to have middle-class values. I have come up the hard way and buying a purse costing more than a lakh is something my system doesn’t absorb. So if you see me with a designer bag, it has been gifted to me, more often than not by Karan! I personally do the grocery shopping in the local supermarket and, yes, I repeat my clothes,” laughs Farah. Watch Sallu with his mom open up to vivacious host Farah Khan at 9 pm tonight on Star Plus.
