Sushmita Sen and Kangna Ranaut will attempt to be just that for a song called Shakira Jaisi…

Hips Don’t Lie — ask Sushmita Sen and Kangna Ranaut. The stars are learning to shake their kamariyas like the Colombian singer who can wriggle her hips and more effortlessly.

The actresses are presently shooting for a song sequence for Anees Bazmee’s No Problem (it’s not a sequel to No Entry!). Music composer Pritam has composed a trademark Punjabi hip track that goes Shakira Jaisi Hile Lakhni…

Sush and Kangs, who play sisters in the flick, have been matching steps to Chinni Prakash’s choreography.
The two actresses will be making their moves in six yards. While Sushmita has draped herself in an Abu Jani sari worth Rs 4 lakh, Kangna settled for a Suneet Varma creation which costs Rs 3.5 lakh.

The song is being shot at the Filmistan Studios. Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor who feature in the film are also in the song that has been penned by lyricist Kumar (of Maa Ka Ladla fame).

Produced by Anil Kapoor, Rajat Rawail and Spice International, No Problem is slated to release in the third quarter of 2010.

Says Rawail, “We have been shooting for this track from Tuesday. Pritam has scored an extremely peppy song that tells them to shake like Shakira! It is a celebration song as Kangna is getting engaged to Akshaye in the film. The dance unfolds in their father Shakti Kapoor’s home — he plays the police commissioner.”

After a long schedule in South Africa, Bazmee has started the Mumbai leg of the film’s shoot. From next week, they will be shooting at various parts of south Mumbai.

Mumbai: Another Karan Johar release is facing the music, this time from the Shiv Sena. The party has objected to the bare-backed posters of Kareena Kapoor from the film, Kurbaan.

More than 100 Shiv Sainiks took to the streets and tore down posters of the film in Juhu, Marol and other parts of Andheri on Friday. A month ago, the MNS had objected to the use of the Mumbai’s old name, Bombay, in Johar’s Wake Up Sid; he had to bend over backwards to the chauvinists and the film had to be screened with a disclaimer.

Friday’s protests were led by Sena activists Jitendra Janawale in Juhu and Subhash Kanta Sawant in Marol. Sawant said: “We objected to the posters as they showed the actress semi-nude and we found to be in very bad taste. It violates our Indian culture.’’ The Sainiks also put a sari around Kareena in some of the posters.

A group of Sainiks even headed for Kareena’s residence and wanted to present a sari to her. But an officer said: “We deployed our people near the actress’s house but nothing untoward happened.’’ Kareena was said to have gone out for a shoot.

Additional commissioner of police (West) Amitabh Gupta said the Khar police station had been asked to register a case against the offenders.

An industry insider said political parties were picking on soft targets to get some mileage and the MNS’s impressive showing in the recent Assembly polls was “forcing’’ the Sena to look for rabblerousing issues. “The film industry has always been a soft target as the government does not take action against political parties,’’ the insider said.

“The government took a proactive decision in only one case, providing Anurag Kashyap with security; but that was because they knew that the director would never apologise to the MNS,’’ another source said. Kashyap, reacting to a question from a news channel about DevD being vulgar, said Raj Thackeray’s words were much more vulgar than his films.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra got engaged on Saturday evening at the latter’s Juhu residence.

When Shilpa arrived at 8.15pm looking resplendent in a Manish Malhotra sari, several media people were waiting to catch a glimpse of the actress.

She was seen requesting photographers to make way for her to enter Raj’s house. At midnight, after the engagement ceremony, the couple happily posed for photographs

Here’s an exclusive report on the Aamir Khan-Kareena Kapoor rain song, Zoobi doobi straight from the sets of 3 Idiots

Kareena Kapoor, Aamir Khan and Raju Hirani on the sets of 3 Idiots

Now that Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor are starring together in Raju Hirani’s 3 Idiots, after two misses (Mani Ratnam’s Lajjo and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Mr Singh & Mrs Mehta) there is a considerable amount of curiosity about this never-seen-before jodi. We dropped in on the sets at Film City on Thursday to watch the two sizzle in the only romantic song, Zoobi doobi, in the film.

Entering the sets wasn’t an easy task because of the tight security. This despite the fact that we had taken the requisite permission on Wednesday to visit the sets. Thankfully, Aamir Khan spotted us after which going on the sets was a cakewalk.

Sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal, the rain song has been composed by Shantanu Moitra. Aamir Khan, dressed in a burnt orange shirt and white trousers, was completely wet and gladly showed off his super flat abs. Kareena too wore a similar coloured sari and looked effortlessly stunning. The two actors dancing in the (artificial) rain reminded one of the Raj Kapoor-Nargis Awara song, Pyaar hua ikraar hua.

Choreographer Bosco was busy instructing all the dancers in the background. Aamir and Kareena were explained a shot, which was being filmed from a high angle. Raju Hirani sat by the monitor, closely watching the visuals. As soon as the shot was okayed, Aamir and Kareena rushed to check the scene in the monitor after which Aamir got busy with his Rubik cube. He told us that when he was in college, he could solve it in 27 seconds flat, but now he takes a minute to get it right. Surprisingly, he claimed that he could solve the Rubik cube without even seeing it, which he did, in exactly one minute. Aamir also said that he has quit smoking for over six months as he wanted to look fresh and young in the film.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan makes a second appearance on Oprah Winfrey; hubby Abhishek Bachchan makes his international talk show debut with her
By Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; August 31, 2009)
Aishwarya, in keeping with her status as an international star, has made appearances at Cannes, has a statue at Madame Tussauds and has appeared on David Letterman’s Late Show and on Oprah Winfrey in the past. This time her husband Abhishek kept her company as he had been invited on the show with her. They had flown to the States last week to shoot for an episode on Oprah.

In February 2007, she won over Oprah with a sari. Oprah had enthusiastically volunteered to be draped in the sari, which she found sensuous. We wonder if Aishwarya will remember it and wear a sensuous drape to her show this time.

Aishwarya had spoken about living at home and the importance of family and this year, she can re-emphasise family values as the first couple of Bollywood may have much to say about their wedded bliss.

Appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show is a prestigious affair as stars like Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and others have opened their hearts out on her couch. It will be interesting to see if Ash is her diplomatic self or will reveal a new facet of her personality.
