For all you know, you may not have the opportunity to dial the toll free line to love. 1-800-LOVE will not be the title of the film if producer Madhu Mantena manages to get his way. Director Abbas Tyrewala and Madhu are having constant fights over the title of the film.

Our source reveals, “Madhu Mantena is dissatisfied with the title and is adamant on changing it. He has had several arguments with the director and wants to change the title because he feels that the Indian audience will not be able to understand and connect to 1-800-LOVE. They have had their fair share of heated arguments in the past over locations too. Recently, at the film’s wrap-up party, Madhu walked out after another one of their tiffs over the title.” Lead actor John Abraham had to then smooth things out between the two.

Madhu explains, “We rarely use toll free numbers in India. It is very important that the audience also connects to the film’s name for commercial success.” But isn’t it too late to realise this as the title 1-800-LOVE is already registered in people’s minds, we ask him. “We have ample amount of time to change and promote it, even though 1-800-LOVE has gained popularity. I love this film and Abbas too much to let this mistake happen.”

Abbas, firm about the current title, says, “For the longest time, I wanted 1-800-LOVE as my title. But Madhu wants a different one now. As Madhu says, it does happen that people refer to it as ‘One thousand eight hundred love’, which is not what the film is about. But I thought people will understand it. Madhu and I had a conflict and I understand his point, but need something more convincing.”

Laughing off his walk-out from the wrap-up party, Madhu says, “Abbas and I are very close friends and feel passionately about the film. We make it a point to show off our aggression. I am sure we’ll settle with a final title soon. And yes, on the other hand, John likes another title.”

Both Shazahn Padamsee and Gauhar Khan claim to be the lead actress in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer, Rocket Singh

Shazahn Padamsee and Gauhar Khan might be making their acting debut in Shimit Amin’s Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year, but they are already well-versed with starry airs that Bollywood actresses are expected to have. Both the actresses claim to be the lead actress in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer.

Recently, during the wrap up party of the film, both the actresses refused to greet each other and made a conscious effort to stay away from each other. A source from the unit said, “Shazahn has been the hot topic on the sets, especially because of the way she has been publicising herself. The film is not a love story in which she can play the lead. It is a completely different genre where one cannot play the lead opposite the protagonist (Ranbir). We wonder what dancing and acting classes she was talking about when she barely shot for four days. Gauhar has been silent because she knows about the length of her role.” Incidentally, Gauhar has shot for four months for the film

When asked about the cold vibes between her and Gauhar, Shazahn said, “I haven’t shot with Gauhar. I have only shot with Ranbir and he is a good friend of mine.”

Commenting on who plays the lead actress, Shazahn said, “I have nothing bad to say about anyone. It was a great experience working in this film and I have nothing to complain about.”

About Gauhar shooting for four months while she has only shot for four days, Shazahn said, “It is not the number of days we shoot for that defines our work. It’s about your character in the film and once the audience sees the film, they can decide for themselves.”

Meanwhile, Gauhar said, “I have never interacted with Shazahn professionally or socially. We have only shot for one scene together.”

When asked who plays the lead in the film Gauhar said, “All I can say is that Shazahn is opposite Ranbir. About who plays the lead, I leave it to the audience to watch the film and then decide. The one who stays in the audience’s mind is more important.”

Thanks to Arjun Rampal, the usually reticent Akshay Kumar couldn’t stop dancing and singing at the wrap-up party of Housefull in London. Twinkle is delighted

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar and parties never went hand in hand. That is till a few weeks ago. Everyone who knows Akshay knows him as this reticent actor who stayed away from late night parties and socialising preferring instead to stick to his healthy lifestyle, which included going to bed at 10pm and waking up in the wee hours of the morning to exercise. During parties, including his own, Akshay would always let his friends have fun while he quietly stood smiling in a corner with a glass of juice in his hand.

The juice still hasn’t changed. Akshay remains a teetotaler but the man has turned into a party animal in London, thanks to Arjun Rampal. The two were shooting together for Housefull and Arjun would try to drag Akshay to pubs and clubs almost every night.

A source said, “Arjun really brought out Akshay’s extrovert side. They would often go out together for a boys’ night out whenever their respective families were not in London.”

After Arjun left London, Akshay’s newfound fun side was made clear last week when the unit of Housefull saw Akshay having a great time during the wrap-up party. The star went to the dance floor and sang aloud Jee karda from Singh Is Kinng. Those present were shocked.

A guest present at the party said, “It was most unexpected. First, Ritesh Deshmukh and Akshay sang and danced to a song called I am a loser from Housefull. When the DJ started playing Jee karda, Akshay took the mike and not only sang the song but also danced.”

The one person who is the happiest about the outgoing Akshay is his wife Twinkle. For years, she has been complaining about how staid he tends to be in crowds.
